Saints’ Harry Mallinder says it is an “honour” to have been named Ewing Associates Young Player of the Season at the Saints End of Season Dinner, which was held on Monday night.
Speaking after winning the award, Mallinder said: “It’s a great honour.
“It’s just been a great season to be a part of personally, to get the opportunity to play for this great Club. “
Tom Collins and Paul Hill were also nominated in the same category, and Mallinder has thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play alongside other talented young players: ”It’s a great opportunity that I have.
“Playing with the best young players in this league is incredible.”
Looking ahead to the summer, Mallinder will be representing England at the forthcoming Under-20 Championship before returning to Saints where he hopes he can continue his fine form into next season.
“My target is to back up what I’ve managed to produce this year and hopefully get a starting place in the team in whatever position that may be,” said Mallinder.
“Hopefully if I’m representing the Club and playing well things will go well.”
