Dragons vs Northampton Saints

Dragons earn a scrum from the restart and then a free kick there. They chip over the top but Pisi is there. Saints are penalised for crossing though and Dragons take it quickly. They race down the wing but Emery works hard to tackle Rosser into touch.

Dragons push on as Saints clear the restart but the away side hold them well and they forced the high ball. Saints collect and Emery presses down the wing. He chips through to Pisi who nearly makes it. They're close...

Penalty Saints at the scrum again and Grayson sends this one long into touch. Lineout Saints in Dragons' 22. 

Lawes is up for the lineout and Saints look to maul. Mitchell clears and Pisi is in chase. The ball is deemed to have come forwards off the winger in the air and Dragons have the scrum just inside their own half.

A brilliant scrum from Saints and they earn the penalty. Grayson clears and Saints have a lineout just outside their own 22. 

Brüssow gets over the ball but Dragons are awarded the scrum on Saints' five metre.

Dragons earn a free kick at the scrum and take it quickly. Saints work hard to push them back but the home side press on.

Pisi returns with Ratuniyarawa joining him. Hutchinson and Ribbans take their leave.

Another maul from the home side and Saints are working really hard to keep them out. Dragons earn a scrum though.

Dragons look to maul from the lineout but Saints hold them well for now. The home side earn a penalty though and we have another lineout. 

We come back to a penalty in the build up and Botica sends to touch for a Dragons lineout on Saints' five metre. 

Dragons collect the ball at the lineout but loose possession just after and Lawes presses on. Saints lose the ball but Tuitavake regains it in the breakdown before Dragons regain it. There's space down the wing and they use it but a brilliant tackle from Emery slows things. They're still in possession and pushing in Saints' 22 though. 

Saints pressure well at the restart but concede a penalty at the breakdown. Dragons clear to touch. 

Saints maul forwards again get close...

Lawes knocks on in contact but we come back for a penalty in the build up. Grayson sends the ball into the corner for a Saints lineout on the five metre. 

Saints earn a penalty and clear to touch. The lineout goes smoothly before Strachan comes flying off the base and through the centre into Dragons' 22. Saints press on from there and bering the ball wide again. 

Saints press well but Mitchell's chip through bounces into the dead ball zone. Dragons take the 22 drop and Mitchell collects. Saints press forwards, chipping through again. Dragons dot the ball down over the try line again. Saints collect the drop once more and press on.

Penalty Saints at the breakdown and Grayson makes sure this time with his touch finder. Lineout Saints just outside Dragons' 22. 

Good pressure from Saints and they earn a scrum. They earn a penalty too. Grayson clears but doesn't find touch and Dragons play on. They earn a penalty too and clear to touch. Lineout Dragons inside Saints' half.

Lawes is up for the lineout and skips forwards from there. Mitchell clears well and pushes Dragons back to Saints' 22. 

After some confusion over Dragons' substitutes, we get the lineout underway and Saint pressure well. Dragons retain the ball though and press forwards before replacement scrum-half Davies sinks a chip through to touch. Lineout Saints inside their own 22. 

Lewis clears to touch for a Dragons lineout just inside Saints' 22.

Saints collect the restart and Mitchell clears from the base of a ruck. The ball comes forwards off Dragons and Saints play on but concede a penalty around halfway.

Saints maul forwards from lineout and are over if they can keep the pressure on here...

Penalty Saints at the scrum as it collapses for the second time. Grayson sends to the corner for a Saints lineout inside Dragons' 22. 

Dragons collect the ball though and clear but Hutchinson is there to collect the high ball. Saints press but Dragons earn the scrum at the breakdown. 

Saints pushing hard here and Ribbans barges through the midfield. Saints come wide again inside Dragons' 22 before coming back the other way looking for space. 

Grayson gets things back underway and Saints pressure well from the restart. Dragons are forced to clear and Saints have the lineout on halfway. 

Dragons earn a scrum as their clearing kick comes forwards off Reinach's chest.

Penalty Saints at the lineout and Biggar clear to halfway. The throw is long though and Hibbard collects.

Time's nearly up here as Dragons try to push on. Saints' defences holding firm though and Williams is forced to clear. His kick is good though and Dragons have the lineout inside Saints' 22.

Dragons clear from the lineout and then press will before turning over. They bring the ball wide before chipping through. Lineout Saints just inside their own 22.

Dragons kick to touch for a lineout inside Saints' 22 and look to maul from it. The ball eventually comes out and Saints look to pressure. They turn over and Hutchinson boots it downfield. Reinach is in chase but touches fullback Williams before he's got the ball and Dragons have the penalty. They clear to touch for a lineout just inside their own half.

Saints get a huge shove on and Dragons do well to retain the ball. Ludlam is straight on Evans but it's the home side that earn the penalty. 

Dragons maul from the lineout but are held fast by Saints. They bring the ball out to the midfield. Reinach is nearly away with another intercept but we come back for a knock on in the build up by Saints. Scrum Dragons on halfway.

As the rain starts to come down on Rodney Parade, Saints clear the restart well before stealing Dragons' lineout. They push hard and come wide but Collins' pass to Pisi on the wing finds touch. Lineout Dragons on halfway.

Penalty Dragons at the scrum and Lewis sends to touch. Lineout Dragons on Saints' 22. 

Saints clear the restart and then pressure Dragons well. They earn a scrum but knock on just after and give Dragons the put-in.

Dingwall  - who took a knock in the tackle that started the try - leaves the field with Hutchinson on in his place.

A brilliant tackle from Dingwall sees the ball come loose of Dragons grip and Pisi scoops up the ball. His run in is clear if he can make it...

Dragons look to maul from the lineout and make some ground before Williams is forced to clear. His kick finds touch just inside Saints' half. Lineout Saints there. 

Davis, Gray and Onojaife replace van Wyk, Haywood and Ryan. 

Dragons look to make headway but Saints' defence holds. They are forced to clear and Saints press on. They, too, clear and Dragons push on again before attempting to clear. Ribbans charges down again. Lineout Dragons on halfway. 

Saints, too, clear but fullback Williams is there. He races the ball through Saints' midfield but is taken down on the 22. Saints earn the penalty there and Biggar clears. He misses touch though and Dragons press.

Dragons play the ball quickly and clear. This time Saints take the ball well and push on.

Dragons clear from the base of the scrum and Collins is there. Saints scramble to keep possession before Reinach clears. Biggar is in chase but he's beaten to the ball. Dragons, now around their own 22, clear. Reinach is there but he knocks the high ball on. Scrum Dragons.

Saint deemed offside at the restart and we come back for scrum on halfway.

Dragons work slowly at the lineout before pressing up to Saints' line. Lewis tries to go it alone but Saints' defence holds for now. Dragons continue to press though...

Despite a good shove from Dragons, Saints work hard to retain the ball. The home side press though and after a huge hit on Biggar, collect the ball. They work their way up to Saints' 22 before earning a penalty. Lewis sends it to the corner. 

This one works better for Saints but a clearing kick from Reinach is charged down. Referee Adam Jones deemed it to be a knock on though and Saints have the scrum. 

Scrappy from Saints at the lineout and Dragons collect the ball. They clear for a Saints lineout.

Saints pressure well from the restart and Ribbans earns a charge down as Dragons look to clear. Saints bring the ball wide but Dragons turn over and clear. Sleightholme is there to keep things alive. Saints earn a penalty just a tase later. Biggar clears to touch. Lineout Saints inside Dragons' 22. 

Craig - who took a large hit in the build up to the drop goal - is replaced by Ribbans.

Dragons continue to push and eventually Lewis drops back into the pocket for the drop goal...

Dragons barge their way over the 22 before coming wide. Williams tries a crossfield but Pisi is there. He's isolated and Dragons earn the ball back and press again.

While Saints steal the lineout, Dragons turn over just after and clear. Saints return but a pass from skipper Francis is deemed forwards. Scrum Dragons just outside Saints' 22. 

Dragons press their way back over the halfway line before clearing. Collins does the same and finds touch. Lineout Dragons.

Saints take the kick-off well and Reinach clears long. Lineout Dragons on halfway.
