Franklin’s Gardens getting a summer makeover

Franklin’s Gardens is a busy place this summer, with a number of areas of the stadium getting a makeover ahead of the 2016/17 season.

The Tetley’s Stand is receiving a top-to-bottom refurbishment, with all 19 Executive Boxes receiving new furniture, TVs and decoration, and the Rodber Suite and Captains Suite both being decorated, having new LED lighting fitted and the floor sanded back and revarnished. The bars in both these suites are also being fitted with new frontage, with additional bars being available in the Rodber Suite on match days.

Meanwhile the Heroes Bar will be transformed into a match day restaurant with a lounge area as well as new tables, chairs, bar, toilets and decoration.

The Saints Superstore is being significantly expanded and will take over almost all of the ground floor of the Franklin’s building, providing a more relaxed experience for supporters, especially on match days. And from the start of the season the Ticket Office will have external windows for serving supporters, with a canopy to provide shelter.

Chief executive Allan Robson says that these developments are part of an ongoing process of improving Franklin’s Gardens for everyone who visits the stadium, whether on match days or for midweek conferences and events.

“With the Barwell Stand now fully completed and operational we’ve been able to turn our attention to other parts of the stadium,” he said. “The Tetley’s Stand is now the oldest part of the current stadium, having been built in 2001, and we felt it was time to give it a refresh to bring it completely up-to-date.

“We’re committed to improving all of our facilities and the work that is now underway in the Tetley’s Stand, Superstore and Ticket Office will make Franklin’s Gardens a more enjoyable place to be on match days.

“These refurbishments will also help ensure that our conference and events business can continue to grow, something which is very important as we look to increase our investments in the playing effort and bring success to the club.”

The Tetley’s Stand Executive Boxes, Rodber Suite, Captains Suite and Saints Superstore are all scheduled to be open in time for the Singha Premiership Rugby Sevens Series on Friday, July 29th, while Club Heroes is expected to be ready for the pre-season friendlies on Saturday, August 20th.

Season Tickets for 2016/17 remain available, as do tickets for the Singha Premiership Rugby Sevens Series. Head to www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/buytickets to book online 24/7.
