Bio
Winger James Martin arrived at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens ahead of the 2025/26 season, having played at Coventry Rugby for six seasons.
Martin made 82 appearances for the Championship side since signing there in 2019, and scored 44 tries during his time at the Club – including one against Northampton when the sides clashed in the Premiership Rugby Cup in February 2025.
Beginning his rugby at local club Sleaford aged just five, Martin gained the attention of Leicester Tigers’ Academy and signed on with Saints’ midlands rivals age-group system in 2017.
During that time Martin would also feature for Hinckley, but a lengthy shoulder injury disrupted his teenage career and led the winger to make the move to New Zealand and join up with North Harbour Development Team in Auckland.
Martin’s try-scoring prowess came to the fore on his return to England, with the winger scoring 13 times in 23 games for Coventry throughout 2022/23 and adding a further 20 tries to his tally the following term.
