Northampton Saints vs Sale Sharks

Saints get up to steal the lineout and they come forwards with the ball. But there's a forward pass just before they reach the halfway line and Sale will have the scrum. 

Saints defend hard off the lineout and James is forced to hack through. Weimann clears and Sale will have the lineout.

Penalty Sale at the scrum again and James puts the ball into the corner. 

Scrappy at the lineout and the ball is deemed to have come off Saints hands first. Scrum Sale. 

Penalty Sale at this scrum though and James puts the ball into touch for a lineout back inside Saints' half. 

Garside replaces Seabrook as we set the scrum. 

Saints come forwards off the scrum, whipping the ball wide left but there's a knock on in contact there and Sale will have the scrum. 

Weimann sends the high ball up and Ene knocks the ball forwards. Scrum Saints back inside Sale's half. 

A Waller and Garside take their leave as we set the lineout, with E Waller and Saints Under-18 scrum-half Weimann enter play. 

 Garside sends the ball high and Sale earn the penalty as it comes down. Quirke takes it quickly but is pushes into touch by Scott-Young and Saints have the lineout. 

Penalty Saints at the scrum though and Savala tries to put the ball into touch for a lineout but misses touch. Sale boot it back Saints' way and Garside is there. Saints play on.

Saints work hard but there's a knock on in contact and Sale have the scrum.

HIA for Munga as we set the lineout, with Mayanavanua returning to take his place. 

Saints defend hard and get over the ball to earn a penalty too. Savala puts the resulting penalty into touch for a lineout on halfway. 

Munga pushes through Sale's line off the scrum before Savala puts a deep kick in behind Sale's line. The side's exchange kicks before Veainu finds touch with a 50-22 kick. Lineout Sale in Saints' 22. 

Garside sends the ball high and Reed comes forwards for Sale but the a forwards pass as they comes forwards sees Saints with the scrum. 

Saints chip over the top off the back of the scrum and Quirke sends it back. Garside is under it and Saints play on. 

J Matavesi replaces Odendaal as we set the scrum. 

Quirke sends the ball high off the lineout and though Sale get there first, they knock the ball forwards. Scrum Saints. 

Ludlam and Sleightholme are replaced by Scott-Young and Glister as we set the lineout.

The ball comes loose on the halfway line and Saints hack through. Graham is in chase and though Sale get there first, Saints are found offside. Curtis sends the resulting penalty into touch for a lineout.

Saints defend hard on the halfway line and Quirke is forced to send the ball high. Sale manage to regather the bouncing ball though as it comes down and play on again.

Quirke hacks threw off the back of the scrum and Litchfield is there. He chips over the top but Sale get to the loose ball first and play on. 

Saints move the ball quickly off the lineout but there's a knock on in contact and Sale will have the scrum just inside their own 22. 

No conversion from Savala out wide but Saints are instantly back on the attack as Seabrook is almost through again. There's an advantage coming for Saints as Sale are found offside and when we come back for it, Savala sends the ball into the corner. 

A Waller, Hill, Moon and Baker replace Iyogun, Davison, Mayanavanua and Hendy as we restart. 

Ludlam crashes the ball up off the lineout before Savala clears but the ball heads straight out and Sale will have the lineout.

Big shove from Saints and they earn the penalty at the scrum. Savala puts the ball into touch for a Saints lineout. 

Saints defend hard at the maul though and earn the put in at the scrum for their efforts. 

Penalty Sale off the lineout as Saints fail to roll away and Du Preez puts it into the corner. 

Penalty Sale at the lineout as Saints jump across at the lineout and Curtis puts this one into touch again for a Sale lineout just outside Saints' 22. 

Graham finds R Smith off the lineout but Sale get over the ball in the next phase. Curtis puts the ball into touch for a lineout back near halfway. 

Sale work over halfway but Savala is taken out off the ball there and Saints earn the penalty. Savala puts in into the corner for a lineout there. 

Sale's defence pushes Saints back but the home side keep possession. Odendaal feeds Seabrook down the left wing to get play into Sale's 22. But the away side get over the ball there and earn the penalty. Curtis puts the ball into touch for a lineout back near halfway. 

Penalty advantage coming for Saints when Sale return the restart, and Savala puts the ball into touch when we come back for it. Lineout Saints on Sale's 22. 

R Smith and Munga enter play as we restart with Cruse and Lawes making way. 

Savala gets things restarted here at the Gardens. 

Sale push from close range but Saints defend hard and earn the put in at the scrum for their efforts. 

Odendaal and Garside put Saints on the front foot but Savala's clearing kick is charged down. Sale gather and hack through for O'Flaherty to chase. Seabrook gets there first but he carries the ball over the tryline and Sale will have the scrum on the five metre line. 

Saints hold Sale's maul up off the lineout though and earn the put in at the scrum. 

Saints gather the restart but Garside's kick heads straight out and Sale have the lineout. 

Graham replaces Augustus as we restart. 

Savala puts the resulting penalty into the corner for a Saints lineout there. 

Lockett disrupts the lineout and Saints gather the ball there. Ludlam pushes forwards in the midfield before Garside sends the high ball up. Sale get there but Saints' defence pushes up well and Warr sends the ball high. Sale are penalised for holding a man on the floor though and Savala puts the ball into touch for a lineout just outside Sale's 22. 

Curtis' kick to touch stays in though and Saints play on, sending Seabrook forwards. But the ball goes loose as it comes wide right and Sale will have the lineout. 

Saints whip the ball left and right to push up to halfway before Garside puts the box kick up. Warr returns a kick of his own and though Garside is takes is, he's isolated and Sale get over the ball for the penalty.

Savala can't add the touchline conversion and though Sale regather the restart, Saints push Sale into touch. Saints earn a penalty before the ball is thrown in as Sale disrupt the throw and Savala puts the ball into touch for a Saints lineout.

Lawes is up for the lineout and Saints come forwards down the short side but they're penalised for blocking but have a knock-on advantage coming and we come back for the scrum. 

Penalty Saints at the lineout too as Sale make contact in the air. Savala sends the ball into touch for a lineout on halfway. 

Augustus charges up off the scrum and has Litchfield with him. Sleightholme is almost through but the ball comes loose in the next phase and Sale hack it downfield. The ball beats Hendy into touch though and Saints have the lineout inside their own 22. 

Ramm is replaced by Seabrook as we set the scrum. 

No conversion from Du Preez again from the tee but Warr clears downfield from the restart. Though Saints are there, they're pushed into touch and Sale have the lineout. But Sale knock on there and Saints will have the scrum. 

Saints come forwards but the ball goes loose in contact on halfway. Warr boots is clear and Ramm is back but Garside's clearing kick heads straight out. Lineout Sale on Saints' 22. 

Penalty Saints at the restart as Sale infringe at the maul there. Savala puts the ball into touch for a lineout back on halfway. 

Saints whip the ball wide to Ramm but the winger is taken down. Saints recycle the ball well though and push in Sale's 22 still. 

Augustus and Litchfield push Saints' forwards but Ramm's offload finds Sale hands and Warr sends the box kick up. Hendy is there and he comes forwards over the halfway line again. Sale fail to roll away at the breakdown and Savala puts the ball into the corner for a lineout there. 

Sale claim the kick-off but Lawes gets over the ball to earn Saints the penalty and Savala puts the ball into touch for a lineout on halfway.
