Newcastle Falcons vs Northampton Saints

Lockett is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards, but Falcons hold them up and earn the put in at the scrum. 

Pollock gets over the ball there and earn Saints the penalty. Matavesi puts this one into the corner. 

Free kick Falcons at the scrum and they go quickly. But the ball is knocked on and Litchfield clears. Falcons get under it but Grayson turns the ball over and Braley clears again. Falcons are under this one inside their own half.

Falcons boot the ball downfield on the restart and Hendy gets back to gather. Braley boxes but his kick hits Lockett's back and Falcons have the scrum put in as Saints are accidentally offside. 

Thame replaces Ramm as we restart.

Saints maul forwards into Falcons half before the ball comes out to Litchfield. Pollock breaks down the left and tries to chip to himself but Falcons gather and clear. Matavesi is there though and Saints play on. 

Big shove at the scrum and Saints earn the penalty there. Matavesi puts the ball into touch for a lineout on halfway. 

Free kick Falcons at the lineout though and Newcastle choose the scrum. 

Saints maul forwards from the lineout and push over the halfway line when the ball comes into the midfield. But Falcons get over the ball there and earn the penalty. Schoeman puts it into touch for a lineout on Saints' 22. 

Aerial tennis ensues and Falcons run the ball forwards but Matavesi gets over the ball and Saints have the penalty. Matavesi puts it into touch for a lineout on halfway. 

Pollock intercepts a Falcons pass in the midfield and Braley clears. Falcons keep the ball in thought and play on around halfway. 

Saints turn the ball over off the back of the lineout but Braley's clearing kick finds touch. Lineout Falcons just outside Saints' 22. 

Hendy replaces Skosan as we set the lineout.

Falcons push the ball right and earn a penalty there as Saints fail to roll away. Schoeman puts it into the corner. 

Tait and Matavesi exchange kicks off the restart but the latter's effort head straight out and we come back for a Falcons lineout inside Saints' half. 

Pollock replaces Irvine as we restart.

Saints maul forwards from the lineout and Ramm hacks off the top for Skosan to chase off the back of it. The winger gets there and Saints have an advantage coming in the midfield as Falcons fail to roll away. We come back for it and Matavesi points to the posts. 

Falcons come forwards after Saints return the restart their way. Lockwood breaks through but Saints get back to defence quickly and Schoeman is forced to kick to touch. Lineout Falcons just outside Saints' 22. 

Saints whip the ball wide quickly off the scrum, with Ramm and Collins coming forwards down the left. Saints push from close range now.

Hobbs-Awoyemi and Petch replace Waller and Painter as we set the scrum. 

Matavesi clears long off the back of the scrum and Earle is back there. Falcons come forwards into Saints' half but there's a knock on there. Scrum Saints. 

The fullback sends it high but Falcons get there first and Earle charges up to Saints' 22. But Collins hits his opposite man hard and forces the knock on there. Scrum Saints.

Saints make it over the halfway line now and the ball comes wide for Litchfield and Grayson to combine to get play up to Falcons' 22. But there the home side get over the ball and earn the penalty. Schoeman goes to clear but the ball stays in and Ramm comes forwards. 

Knock on from Falcons off the scrum and Collins scoops it up, Saints play on. 

Braley chips over the top and Falcons just get there first. Barton boxes high again and Saints are pinged for obstruction as it comes down. Schoeman puts the ball into touch for a lineout in Saints' 22. 

Barton clears off the back of the scrum but the ball stays in touch. Ramm gathers it and Saints play on on halfway. 

Saints make their way into Falcons' 22 now but there's a knock on in contact there and Falcons will have the scrum. 

Matavesi sends the ball downfield on the restart and Falcons get back to take it. Barton boxes high himself and Skosan gets under this one. He finds Ramm and the fullback charges through Falcons line and up to halfway. Saints play on.

Schoeman gets us restarted here at Kingston Park. 

Penalty advantage coming for Falcons as they come forwards. We come back for it and Schoeman puts it into the corner for a lineout there. 

Barton clears off the back of the scrum and Braley gets under it. But there's another knock on in the next phase and Falcons have another scrum on halfway. 

Saints rip the ball on restart and come forwards but there's a knock on there and Falcons have the scrum. 

Schoeman sends the ball high off the restart and Collins return it. Tait is there and he pushes into Saints' half before he's taken down. Eventually though Barton clears and Ramm finds touch after he gathers the high ball. Lineout Falcons on halfway.

Falcons hold Saints up off the scrum though and earn the put in for themselves. 

Free kick Saints at the scrum and they choose to scrum again. 

Saints maul forwards before pushing from close range but Braley has the ball slapped out of his hand at a ruck and Saints have the penalty. They choose to scrum. 

Penalty Saints at the restart as Falcons find themselves offside. Matavesi puts it into the corner. Lineout Saints there.

The home side push back up to Saints' 22 building patient phases there. There's a penalty coming for them and we come back for it. Schoeman finds touch again and its Falcons with the lineout in Saints' 22. 

Overthrow at the lineout from Newcastle and Waller dives on it. Saints charge forwards before Grayson hacks through to space in behind. Falcons win the footrace to it though and play on.

Penalty Falcons at the scrum though and Schoeman finds touch with it. Lineout Falcons inside Saints' 22. 

Saints come back inside but the ball goes forwards there and Falcons will have the scrum. 

Falcons push up to halfway from the restart before Barton boxes high. Saints get under it and Ramm clears himself. Falcons build a few phases on halfway before Barton boxes again. Ramm is under this one too and Saints play on.

Saints get the ball wide left themselves and Ramm gets play over the halfway line. But Falcons strip the ball in a tackle there and Barton boxes clear. Ramm is up under it though and Saints play on again. 

Falcons try to whip the ball wide left off the lineout but the ball finds touch instead of the last man and Saints will have this lineout.

Saints come wide off the lineout, with Collins putting the ball on his boot for Ramm and Skosan to chase. but Tait just gets back there first and the ball comes back to Schoeman to clear. He doesn't find touch though and Saints play on.

Overthrow at the lineout and Blamire dives on it. Both sides exchange kicks before Schoeman marks the high ball and clears to touch. Lineout Saints on halfway. 

Falcons try to come forwards from the restart but Saints turn the ball over and clear downfield. Saints pressure hard there too and force Schoeman to clear to touch. Lineout Saints.

Falcons send the ball back Saints way and Collins and Grayson combine to get the ball into Falcons' 22. There Saints earn a penalty too as Newcastle go off their feet at the breakdown and Matavesi puts it into the corner.

Aerial tennis off the restart and eventually it's Saints that choose to play the ball. But eventually Braley's clearing box kick is charged down and Falcons gather and play on.

Saints choose to scrum with the penalty.

Barton boxes high off the kick-off and there's a knock on advantage coming for Saints as it comes back down. Eventually we come back for it and Saints have the scrum just inside Falcons' half.
