Northampton Saints vs Cambridge

Scrum penalty to Saints, 10 metres inside their own half and to the left of the pitch. Grayson makes 20 metres with Cruse set to throw in.

James fires a lovely kick from inside his own half that goes out of play inside the Saints 22. But because the ball was passed back to the Cambridge fly-half, it's not a 50:22.

Seabrook hobbles off and Saints are down to 14 men with nobody coming on to replace the winger.

James kicks cross field in the 22 but the bounce is unkind for Green and goes out of play. We're back for a Cambridge scrum, central, 10 metres out. 

Cherry is on for his debut in place of Atuanya.

A lovely wrap around move from Saints off the back of a scrum sees  Matavesi and Grayson combine, but the latter is hauled down five metres from the line and possession is lost. Cambridge clear up to half way.

James misses the conversion for Cambridge.

 Logan is on for his Saints debut in place of Lockett.

A promising Cambridge attack ends with a knock on and Grayson booms a huge clearance kick up to within a metre of half way.

Matavesi is on in place of Thame.

Garside eyes a blind side dart, with Seabrook coming in off his wing. Garside receives the ball back but is bundled into touch on half way.

Pollock and Grayson swallow up a Cambridge ball carrier to win a scrum, just outside their own 22 to the left of the posts.

A long spell of Cambridge possession ends with a spill and Langdon grubbers brilliantly into touch, so nearly a 50:22.

Cambridge prop Elwood knocks on centrally, Saints have a scrum 15 metres inside their own half.

Saints are penalised again as the maul collapses. Cambridge touch but fumble the lineout, Grayson hoofs up to halfway where Dabell brings play back to the Saints ten-metre line.

James kicks into the backfield where Pollock tracks back to do just enough to stop Hema from collecting. Cambridge claim the line out and kick a penalty to touch. Lineout Cambridge, five metres from the goalline. 

Langdon slams into Baxter and forces the error, Saints scrum down just inside the Cambridge half. Grayson delays a  pass beautifully for Seabrook to step his way up to the 22, where the attack ends with a fumble...

Saints break from deep as Glister canters up field and feeds Thame inside the 22, but his pass cannot be pulled in by McParland who knocks on 15 metres from the goalline. 

Lockett carries into traffic before Saints break down the blindside. However, Freeman's tip pass is too hot for Vukasinovic. Scrum Cambridge tight to the touchline, 15 metres inside their own half.

Cambridge are penalised for being in front of the kicker, Saints take the scrum option, packing down just inside the Cambridge half.

... the attack ends as James' pass is just behind Green who can't stop the ball going out of play. Saints retain lineout ball and McParland clears up to near halfway.

The scrum penalty goes to Cambridge, Hema slams the ball into touch, for a throw on the Saints ten metre line. 

Great double team from Saints as Freeman wraps up the Cambridge ball carrier before the forwards pile in and the ball is taken to the ground. Scrum Saints, on the Cambridge ten metre line, 15 metres in from the right touchline. 

... but Freeman's pass doesn't go to hand, so play will restart after a water break with a Cambridge scrum on their own ten-metre line, 15 metres in from touch on the right side of the pitch.

There's a great tackle from Moore-Aiono on Caven as the Cambridge winger stepped infield and found some space. Cambridge chip ahead but Langdon carries strongly and Saints break from deep with Freeman...

Vukasinovic gets a hand to the ball and steals the lineout, Grayson clears brilliantly up to near halfway.

A huge looping pass from James fines Caven in some space outwide, 10 metres from the line but the Cambridge winger spills. We're back for another penalty and James kicks to the corner for a third time. 

Saints hold firm but referee Jonathan Cook spots another infringement, this time not rolling away. James kicks to five metres out. 

Saints are under pressure defending on their own five metre line as Cambridge move the ball left and right. 

Cambridge enjoy their best period of possession so far and force a penalty on the Saints 22, 15 metres in from touch. James kicks to 10 metres out. 

Millar Mills carries strongly in the Cambridge 22 as Saints go within a metre with penalty advantage. The referee blows his whistle and Saints have a central penalty 15 metres out. On comes the tee.

Hendy fields a kick in the back field and carries up to near half-way, where Grayson is hit hard by a firm Cambridge tackle.
