Aston Gradwick-Light joined Northampton Saints’ Senior Academy on a full-time basis ahead of the 2022/23 season, putting pen to paper on his first professional contract in April 2022.
The hooker was part of the Club’s Under-18s side that reached the final of Premiership Rugby’s Academy League during the 2021/22 campaign.
After joining the Junior Academy as part of the Under-13s Developing Player Programme in Suffolk, Gradwick-Light transitioned from prop to hooker at Under-16 level under the guidance of James Craig.
A knee injury kept the former Royal Hospital School, Rugby School, and Colchester RFC forward out of action for some of Saints Under-18s’ run to the Academy League final, but he featured during the latter stages of the competition to earn himself a playing contract.
