Prop Ehren Painter broke into the first team at Northampton towards the end of the 2017/18 season after rising through the ranks of the Saints Academy.
The former Felstead School student made his senior debut for the Club against Saracens in 2018, before a hugely impressive performance against Leicester Tigers – including a memorable scrum penalty – helped Saints secure their first double over their rivals in over a decade.
Painter kicked on in Chris Boyd’s first season at the helm, featuring in 15 games during the 2018/19 season, and scoring his first try in Black, Green and Gold against Bristol Bears in September of that campaign.
The following term saw Painter play his most rugby to date, donning a Saints shirt 22 times that campaign ahead of signing his first senior contract with the Club ahead of the 2019/20 season, before reaching his 50th Saints appearances as he added 16 more appearances to his tally in 2020/21.
Born in London, Painter has also represented England at age-grade level. Having played for England Under-16s, Under-17s, and Under-18s, he was selected for the Under-20s for the Six Nations and World Rugby Under-20s Championships in France in 2018.
Painter also made a series of appearances for the Wanderers in the run up to his first-team debut against Saracens in April 2018, lifting the Premiership Rugby A League title that same month.
